Latin America
We are considering suspending our Latin American component of GUPY for 2011. Beginning in 2006, a component of GUPY has been a trip to a Spanish-speaking country. Our first trip was to the Dominican Republic, and from 2007-2009, we went to Mexico City. In 2010 we went to Costa Rica in partnership with Grace Community Church and Young Life. Our hope for these trips is to give our team the chance to minister cross-culturally and also to build our awareness of the growing population of Latino men, women, and children here in America. By learning firsthand about Mexican history and culture, we have a new framework for engaging the Hispanic population here in Greensboro. We have partnered with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), Latin American Mission (LAM) and Armonia.
