Mexico
Beginning in 2006, a component of GUPY has been a trip to a Spanish-speaking country. Our first trip was to the Dominican Republic, and for the past three years we have gone to Mexico City. Our hope for these trips is to give our team the chance to minister cross-culturally and also to build our awareness of the growing population of Latino men, women, and children here in America. By learning firsthand about Mexican history and culture, we have a new framework for engaging the Hispanic population here in Greensboro. We have partnered with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), Latin American Mission (LAM) and Armonia. In 2009, we will be working again with LAM to help church planters working north of Mexico City.
