Greensboro Urban Project, Y’all

Curriculum

We hope to learn from the Scriptures, as well as from other sources and authors about what ministry to the poor, in the context of Greensboro, looks like. We also hope to grow in our identity as children of God in Christ. We study the history of the Civil Rights Movement in Greensboro and see how our city is still affected today by our the successes and failures in the area of race relations. We also use the books below to help us learn.

From our history:

GUPY uses the 3 R's from John Perkins and the Christian Community Development Association to shape our Bible curriculum for the summer - Reconciliation, Relocation, and Redistribution. We have also added a fourth R, Responsibility, to begin growing in our role as stewards of God's creation. Each week we will study one of the R's, both in all-team Bible study and in individual devotions.
